Mask mandates for most health care settings expired on June 11 2022. That means you are welcome to enter the office without one. We all have different comfort levels right now, and if you’d prefer your practitioner wears a mask during your treatment just let them know, and they’ll happily mask up. We also ask that you help keep everyone at YOUR HEALTH Wellness Centre healthy. If you live with someone who has covid - or - you are testing negative for covid, but have symptoms of a cold, we ask that you wear a mask to your appointment or reschedule.

Chiropractic is a drug-free, hands-on approach that focuses on addressing the cause of a problem, not just the symptoms. Chiropractors use various diagnostic methods, including x-rays and orthopaedic testing, to diagnose, treat, and prevent disorders related to the spine, nervous system, and joints, including shoulders, knees, ankles, and wrists. They are specialists in using exact, gentle manipulations to make you feel great.

Chiropractic treatment also includes diet and exercise programs and takes a holistic approach to help restore your body to its optimal health. Chiropractors can also give you strategies to help prevent future injuries, such as prescribing core strengthening exercises to help stabilize your spine and strengthen your abdominal muscles.

After meeting with you to discuss your concerns and any relevant medical history, our chiropractors will develop a comprehensive, individual plan to address your health concerns or goals. Your treatment plan might include some of the following options:
•Joint manipulation and mobilization
•Soft tissue treatments (primarily myofascial release techniques)
•Active Release Techniques® (ART)
•Graston® Technique
•Strengthening and stretching exercises to help with rehabilitation and injury prevention
•Lifestyle counselling
•Custom orthotics to help with a variety of conditions from low back pain to plantar fasciitis

Pediatric care
Just as chiropractic care is an important part of your health, it is equally important for child’s health. In infants and toddlers, it encourages good neural plasticity (brain and nerve development) and can help resolve breastfeeding issues and colic. It also supports “first-class” nerve communication throughout the body to promote health and well-being, encourages children to thrive by supporting digestive strength, and strengthens your child’s immunity, encouraging fewer colds, ear-aches, and general illnesses. As children get more mobile, it promotes body balance by helping to resolve poor posture, asthma, allergies, and bed-wetting.

Our recommended Well-Child schedule:
•First month of life (ASAP!) to help resolve any issues from birth position or birth trauma
•Every 3 months for the first year
•Every 6-12 months for every year thereafter

Other times to consider bringing a child in for an appointment are major milestones, such as starting to sit up, crawl, and walk; if he or she experiences a trauma or fall; or if you notice any signs of imbalance, such as limping or head tilting. If you have any concerns about your child’s motor development, talk to your chiropractor or doctor.

Naturopathic medicine address all aspects of a person’s life, identifying and addressing the impact that stress and life events have on a patient’s health and assisting patients to make effective lifestyle choices. Our Naturopathic doctor will perform a comprehensive assessment of your health risks, including diet, exercise, stress and genetic susceptibilities, to develop preventative health protocols to help you reduce health risks and prevent illnesses.

In addition to the lifestyle counselling and preventative health protocols, your treatment might involve a combination of naturopathic modalities tailored to you and your health concerns. Treatments include:
•Clinical nutrition
•Botanical medicine
•Homeopathic medicine
•Traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture
•B12 shots

Clinical nutrition

Clinical nutrition examines the relationship between diet and health. We might recommend special diets, food elimination, variations in dietary habits, or the use of nutritional supplements.

Botanical medicine

The use of plants for healing dates back to the beginning of civilization and is the foundation of modern pharmacology. Herbs can be used in several forms, including teas, tinctures, and capsules, and can help treat conditions such as menopause, diabetes, migraines, colds, flu, and arthritis.

Homeopathic medicine

Homeopathic remedies are minute dilutions of plant, animal, and mineral substances designed to stimulate the body’s “vital force” and strengthen its innate ability to heal. This modality is safe for infants, children, and pregnant women.

Traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture

Based on balancing the flow of Chi (energy) through meridian pathways under the skin, Chinese medicine includes the use of herbs and acupuncture to regulate and release Chi to bring the body back into balance. This type of therapy is very effective for pain, digestive disorders, infertility, and many more conditions.

B12 shots

Vitamin B12 is very important for the nervous system, energy, and memory. As we age, our stomach’s acid naturally decreases, affecting Vitamin B12 absorption, so B12 shots can help as we get older. B12 shots can also help individuals who do not absorb vitamins well through their digestive system, such as those with celiac and inflammatory bowel disorders.

It reduces stress, helps manage pain, and promotes deep relaxation, physical healing, spiritual healing, and self-improvement. Reiki also works in conjunction with other medical and therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and to promote recovery from illness or surgery.

Reiki can help with healing many illnesses and injuries, including:
•Stress
•Anxiety
•Fatigue
•Headaches
•Digestive disorders
•Sleep disturbances
•Arthritis
•Memory disorders
•Colds, flu, ear and throat infections
•Energy imbalances

This energy-based technique involves light touch to help align the unseen “life force energy,” Ki, that flows through us all. When our Ki is low, we experience feelings of tiredness and stress and are more likely to become mentally or physically sick. Likewise, when our Ki is high, we enjoy a healthier and more balanced lifestyle. A free and balanced flow of healthy Ki Is the product of well-being and happiness.

A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through you and surrounds you. Reiki can bring about feelings of calmness, inner peace, wellness and joy. You do not have to believe in Reiki for it to work; you just have to be open and willing to enjoy its benefits.

After a reiki treatment, many clients report feeling:
•More balanced
•Less emotional
•Less stressed
•Deeply relaxed
•More energy and vitality
•Less or no pain
•Improved sleep
•Improved ease of movement
•Allergies or other conditions have improved or disappeared

Please make an appointment to discuss how we can bring health and wellness to your everyday.

As a child, I learned early on that I had an intuitive nature. Throughout adulthood, I found many ways to improve and expand my intuition.

The journey started years ago when I experienced some health issues that lead me to question whether there was more to health and prevention than mainstream medicine. Taking my first Reiki class opened up a whole new life perspective and soon became a wonderful way of living for myself and my family.

I achieved my Master Reiki and now fulfill my passion to help others by volunteering my knowledge speaking to different groups about living a healthy lifestyle. This also complements my continuous study as a Holistic Practitioner in Training.

As a Reiki therapist and student of various holistic practices, my goal is to guide those who desire balance and allow acceptance and inner peace.
